North Charleston officers treat 70 children to breakfast with Santa and shopping spree

North Charleston Police Department got into the season of giving during their annual 'Kids & Cops' event on Saturday, by treating 70 children to breakfast with Santa and a holiday shopping spree!

It started at East Bay Deli, where children had breakfast with North Charleston officers. Then they went to Wal Mart, where each child was given $150 to spend on presents!

The police department thanked Liquid Box, Walmart, Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon, and East Bay Deli for helping sponsor the event.

But they weren't the only ones channeling the holiday spirit!

While the children and officers were shopping, a teacher's assistant from Liberty Hill Academy brought a large amount of clothing and other items for a student.

The owner of a local Firehouse Subs also showed up, saying we wanted to bless a child with a bicycle and other items! The police department says the generosity was in addition to a donation already made by the restaurant to 'Kids & Cops.'

The police department thanked both for their generosity; "kindness that goes a long way in shaping and molding our youth!"
