Pedestrian hit, killed Thursday in Ravenel, Savannah Hwy. at Hwy. 165 intersection closed
RAVENEL, S.C. (WCIV) —
A man was killed Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while walking in the roadway in Ravenel. according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
Maj. Eric Watson, CCSO spokesman, says the man was struck and killed by a Ryder moving truck around 9 a.m. after walking into the roadway near the intersection of Savannah Highway and Hwy. 165 in Ravenel.
The pedestrian died at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
The Hwy. 17-Hwy 165 intersection remains closed as CCSO Deputies investigate the crash. The coroner's office will release the victim's name once family have been notified.
