Person found shot in car in Mount Pleasant

First responders and police were dispatched to an address off Boston Grill Road in Mount Pleasant Friday afternoon. EMS found a person shot inside a vehicle.

According a Facebook post from the Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District, crews were dispatched at 4:02 p.m. to the 2700 block of Kidmore Road. The area is near Hamlin Road and Rifle Range Road.

Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office report deputies found several bullet holes in the car. They say the car's windows were also busted. It's believed the man taken to the hospital had several gunshot wounds.

Major Eric Watson with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office said two black males were witnessed running from the scene. K-9s were used in hopes of tracking down the suspect, but the attempt was unsuccessful, Watson said.

The victim is believed to be in serious condition.
