HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — New details have been released after a barricaded subject incident in the Surfside Beach area turned deadly.
According to the SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED), the Horry County Police Dept. responded to the Roadside Inn on Highway 17 Business around 9 p.m. Sunday for a call regarding a disorderly tenant.
The Horry County SWAT team also responded to the scene.
Hours later, around 2 a.m. Monday, Horry County police reported gunfire was exchanged between police and the subject.
One officer had minor injuries from shrapnel at the beginning of the incident, according to police.SLED said it was a fragment wound to the head.
That officer has already been discharged from an area hospital.
HCPD said some officers directly involved in the incident are on administrative leave with pay while SLED conducts its investigation, which is standard procedure.
By 3:15 a.m. police tweeted that the incident was "resolved" and that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) will be taking over the investigation.

The Horry County Coroner's Office said Monday evening that 39-year-oldHendrix Washington died on the scene of injuries sustained during the incident.
Washington, originally of Charleston, is said to have been most recently residing in Conway.
An autopsy has been ordered.
The Surfside Beach Police Dept., Horry County Fire Rescue, Surfside Beach Fire Dept. and the South Carolina Highway Patrol also responded to the scene.
ABC15 spoke with Surfside Beach residents on Monday.
Resident Justin Townsend lives across the street from where the incident occurred and said he saw the sky lit up blue from police lights.
“At one certain time we were up in our bedroom and I had the window open so I could hear what was going on, and I’m pretty sure I heard a bullet go by in the air," Justin Townsend, Surfside Beach resident, said.
Townsend said he moved here with his wife and two kids about three years ago and has seen a steady increase in crime.

“It did concern me that a stray bullet- it would take quite a bit of velocity- but it could happen. Even with one of the neighbors, because we all have several children in the neighborhood," he said.
Another resident told ABC15 he noticed crime moving south of Myrtle Beach and into areas like Surfside. He said with the recent increase of criminal events, he and his wife are considering getting their concealed weapons permit.
"Being out here running around on her own, it makes you think. I’m not used to this, I’m from the country. So, when you move to an area like this, you get to thinking about matters a little more closely," Ken Barr, Surfside Beach resident, saId.
