Man shot in hip, hand in parking lot of North Charleston apartment complex
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
A man was shot in the hip and hand outside a North Charleston apartment complex Wednesday night just before 10:30 p.m., police say.
According to a police report, a man and woman were in the parking lot at Centre Pointe Apartments in a car when an unknown suspect pulled up behind them with a silver truck and then opened fire, striking the victim and the vehicle. The complex is located at 4900 Wetlands Crossing, near the intersection of I-526 and I-26.
The suspect then fled the scene, according to the police.
The man was transported to the hospital. The woman had no injures, according to the police report.
Officers located 17 spent shell casings in the parking lot.
The investigation is ongoing.
