PD: Death at Mount Pleasant assisted living home was not 'suspicious'

Mount Pleasant police respond to Savannah Grace Rehab & Assisted Living in Mount Pleasant (WCIV)

UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Mount Pleasant Police Department confirmed at 8:20 a.m. that the death was not 'suspicious.'

Police were initially called to The Palms of Mount Pleasant for a report of a suspicious death early Thursday morning, according to Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch.

The initial call was made at 7:17 a.m.

The Palms of Mount Pleasant is located on Bowman Road.

The facility offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and care for those with Alzheimer's and dementia, according to their website.

It's unclear why the death was initially labeled as suspicious. No significant police presence was visible at The Palms.

Officers were seen in the area of Savannah Grace Rehab & Assisted Living. Savannah Grace and the main building of The Palms are separated by a small pond.
