"The defendant was in the process of being evicted from the residence because of the hostile and aggressive manner he had been displaying towards his father, the victim and owner of the residence," the police report states.

According to a police report, Harris distributed flammable liquids into the residence "to willfully and maliciously burn it."

Harris was the only person in the home when the fire began, the police report states. There were several points of ignition and accelerant material was located in several areas of the home.

Witnesses heard loud noises which may have been explosions due to the fire, the report states.

Berkeley County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call in January after Harris was being accused of acting hostile towards his father.

The police report states at that time, deputies noticed a flammable liquid and/or gas odor in the residence.
