Police release photos of suspect in West Ashley restaurant armed robbery

The Charleston Police Department is asking the public for help to identify the individual pictured below who was involved in two separate crimes in West Ashley, including armed robbery of the China Garden restaurant on Bees Ferry Road.

The suspect was seen at the Lowe's on Magwood Drive where he was observed attempting to break into vehicles in the parking lot of Lowes on Friday, Jan. 11 around 5 p.m. , according to the Charleston Police Department.

The suspect fled in an older model burgundy/maroon Kia sedan (possibly 10 years old) on Glenn McConnell Parkway toward Bees Ferry Road, according to the police department.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the suspect entered the Jade Garden restaurant at 3125 Bees Ferry Road armed with a firearm, demanded money, and then fled in the above described vehicle after receiving an undetermined amount of currency.

The suspect was last seen leaving the parking lot toward Hwy 61, police state.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40's years of age, approximately 5'8 - 5'10 with a stocky build, short black and grey hair.

The suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
