According to the Berkeley County School District, teachers and employees will see a bump in their paychecks.

"Board Chair Sally Wofford just announced a retroactive 2% pay increase for teachers and all other employees!" the department announced on Twitter.

The meeting was held Tuesday evening.

A spokesperson for the district states the retroactive pay will go back to the beginning of this school year.

For someone making $30,000 per year, that amounts to a $600 increase.

The increase will begin on the first January paycheck.
