Report: Dealer shot trying to sell codeine-infused gummies

Mount Pleasant police responded to a hospital in Mount Pleasant after a man said he was shot during a drug deal.

According to the MPPD incident report, the victim said he was meeting two men to sell them "Codeine in a gummy form known as 'lean.'"

He said he was sitting in his car near Silverstone Road and Goldie Road when the men asked to see the product. He told police he placed the baggie in his lap and one of the men pulled a gun on him while the other guy grabbed the baggie.

He said he grabbed the gun and it went off during the struggle. Police said the bullet grazed his side.

He said he knew the suspects and told police right where to find them.

One of the suspects, 17-year-old Skylur Green, was arrested Monday. He's charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
