Severe thunderstorm warning expires for Tri-County area
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
Thunder and lighting rolled in to the Tri-County area around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service issues a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:15 p.m. for Berkeley and Dorchester counties. A severe thunderstorm warning was in place for Dorchester County until 8:45 p.m.
Weather canceled the final game in the Sertoma Football Classic in Moncks Corner and uprooted a number of trees, including one that fell onto a West Ashley home, according to dispatch.
Emergency crews reopened all lanes of Highway 17 in Mt. Pleasant after a tree fell into the roadway near Bojangles.
A large power outage was reported in Ladson, with 283 customers without power. Several other outages were reported across the area.
