Study: Only 1 in 3 South Carolina residents can pass citizenship test
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
Only 34% of South Carolina could pass a citizenship test, and only 2% received "A's," according to a study by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation.
Researchers used a 20-question multiple choice quiz with questions taken from the actual U.S. Citizenship Test. "Passing" the test meant getting above 60%, or a "D."
On average, 36% of participants nationwide passed.
