Only barely recovered from the destruction brought by Category 1 Hurricane Matthew in Oct. 2016, Edisto Beach in South Carolina was badly affected again Monday by Tropical Storm Irma.

The efforts of a multi-million dollar sand removal and beach renourishment project to restore sand dunes obliterated by Matthew appear to have been negated, as sand once again covers Palmetto Boulevard following the powerful storm surge of Tropical Storm Irma.

While Edisto Beach officials say the destruction caused by Irma isn't as bad as what Matthew brought, it's still a tough blow for the tiny coastal community.

See for yourself the damage, and compare the aftermath of Irma and Matthew in the two drone videos included above.
