A few first time visitors like Janay said this was the right time to check out the beach's shoreline.
" We haven't been to a Charleston beach, so we wanted to experience it for the first time, we usually go to Myrtle," she said.
According to the College of Charleston's Office of Tourism, the Charleston area welcomed an estimated 5.4 million visitors in 2016.
