Trump invites Clemson University football team to White House after championship win

President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that he has invited the Clemson University football team to the White House following their National Championship win over Alabama.

"I look forward to hosting, right out of the great State of South Carolina, the 2019 NCAA Football Champion Clemson Tigers at the White House on Monday, January 14th. What a game, what a coach, what a team!" the president tweeted.

Trump has previously tweeted congratulations to the team immediately after the win.

The Clemson football team dominated Alabama, 44-16, to win college football national championship on Jan. 8.
