York County officers recovering after "ambush" shooting Tuesday that left 1 detective dead

Three York County, S.C. law enforcement officers continue their recovery following a shooting Tuesday morning that resulted in a detective's death.

Friday morning, the York County Sheriff's Office said on its Twitter account that Sgt. Buddy Brown was awaiting a small procedure, and doctors hoped to release him this weekend.

Meanwwhile, the sheriff's office says Sgt. Randy Clinton could possibly be released Friday.

Meanwhile, York authorities say York City Police Sgt. Kyle Cummings has returned home and is recovering as of Thursday night.

York County Detective Michael Doty's body arrived Friday in Charleston, for a scheduled autopsy at MUSC.

Doty died Wednesday from injuries suffered in the shooting.

Authorities say Doty and the other officers were ambushed by Christian McCall, 47, while investigating a domestic disturbance.

McCall is also hospitalized, but is expected to be arrested and charged upon his release from medical care.
