Weekend fire leaves Goose Creek family of 6 homeless, community support sought
The Red Cross is assisting a Goose Creek family of six that lost their home to a fire Saturday, Dec. 9.
Goose Creek Rural Fire Department officials say they were called to the home on Keenan Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday.
Firefighters say they were able to get the blaze under control in about 30 minutes, but the home was beyond repair.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Meanwhile, the Red Cross is helping the Larios family, consisting of two adults and four children.
The family says they have received generous support from their friends and neighbors, so far, but are still in need of help.
