When will it feel like fall?

File / Thinkstock

It’s fall y’all! Of course, it doesn’t feel like it right now. Temperatures have been feeling pretty summer-like the past few days with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

This looks to be summer’s last gasp though, so try to stay cool knowing that relief is coming.

This summer wasn’t as hot as last year …the numbers show it clearly. Last year, there were 99 days with highs in the 90s.

This year, there have been 58 so far but the final total should be 60 days. (90s are on the docket for the next two days).

The average number of days in the 90s for the summer is 56.

Here is the breakdown for 2017 so far:

May – 8 days

June – 6 days

July – 21 days

August – 17 days

September – 6 days as I’m writing this blog, but 2 more are expected

The hottest day this year was August 16th, when we hit 98 degrees. We just missed the record high of 99 set back in 1954.

For those of you wanting cooler temperatures, they are coming! A cold front late week will bring fall-like temperatures for the weekend.
