'Trans Day of Vengeance' protest continues as planned following Nashville shooting

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - 2022/02/06: A protester is seen holding a transgender flag during the demonstration.The organization 'Trans Zorg Nu' (in English 'Trans Care Now') organized a demonstration in Amsterdam against the poor state of transgender health care, the long waiting lists, and to demand a structurally different transition care system based on self-determination and decentralization. Around a thousand of people gathered at the Dam square to show their support with trans people and also against the Amsterdam UMC (former Vumc), which is the Academic Medical Center, and the largest care center for people with gender dysphoria, where last year dozens of experience stories from trans people who were confronted with abuses became public on an Instagram account.
