President Trump has issued a proclamation to lower the flags to half-staff until sunset on Tuesday May 22, 2018.

The gesture is to honor the lives lost in the shooting at Sante Fe High School in Texas.

On Friday May 18, 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis allegedly opened fire at the high school, murdering ten people and injuring thirteen more.

The Palmetto SC Region of the American Cross said they have sent two disaster-trained volunteers to Texas to help victims and families after the school shooting.

According the American Red Cross, one volunteer will help with spiritual guidance and the other will aid with cooking and passing out meals.
