Ashley Ridge rallies to defeat Colleton County, 28-17 | Friday Night Rivals

A third quarter scoring surge and four second-half turnovers gave the Ashley Ridge football team a 28-17 comeback win over Colleton County Friday night.

The Swamp Foxes (2-1) scored on three consecutive third quarter drives, getting back-to-back-to-back touchdown runs of 14, 21 and 12 yards from Nick Cunningham to take the lead and the win.

The Cougars fumbled three times and threw an interception in the second half to lose what was once a 17-7 lead.

Colleton County led 10-7 at halftime on a 52-yard Cragi Grant TD pass to Tristian Nieves, and a 33-yard Campbell Pryor field goal.

The Cougars then pulled ahead to a 17-7 lead early in the third quarter when Jameson Butler scooped up a backward pass for a 1-yard fumble recovery TD.

Ashley Ridge got a first half score from Matt Duncan, who connected with Troy Chavis for a 5-yard TD pass.
