COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – USC head football coach Will Muschamp has announced he’s relieved co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper of his duties effective immediately.

Co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon will now coordinate the Gamecocks’ offense and call plays for the team’s upcoming Outback Bowl game versus Michigan.

“After much deliberation, I have decided to go in a different direction with the offensive coordinator position on our football team,” said Muschamp. “We appreciate Kurt’s contributions to our program and to the University and wish him all the best.”

Muschamp added that he won’t names a replacement for Roper until after the Jan. 1 bowl.
