Pay it Forward: LeeAnn Brown

Pay it Forward: LeeAnn Brown

LeeAnn Brown may have ordered off the menu but instead she got more than what she had an appetite for.

She got a $500 Visa gift card that she can use to prepare for her very first mission trip next Summer.

Nominated by her mother Teresa Kartischko, LeeAnn shared her story of heartbreak, her faith, and triumph.

"About 6 years ago I was a victim of a sexual assault," said Brown . "He is in prison but I found there's a lot of people who feel like there's a stereotype. I realized I have a little girl to raise and I don't have a lot of money and a lot of material things to leave behind. The only thing I have is my story and whether it changes someone else, whether my daughter looks at me and says mom has been through all this and she gets through it. And I look at Jeremiah 29:11 all the time because Lord knows exactly what he's doing and he does have that plan for us not to harm you, to grow you and prosper you. And I fully believe that."

To her mom, LeeAnn has always been the wind beneath her wings.

"She's just such an amazing woman," said Kartischko. "She has overcome so may obstacles and always gets stronger. Taught me how to fight for what's right and it's because of her I had the ability to be able to fly myself. Ever since she was a little girl, Ive always told her she was the wind beneath her wings."
