Joint Base Charleston orders "limited" evacuation for Hurricane Irma
Joint Base Charleston has issued a limited evacuation order in response to Hurricane Irma's projected path.
The evacuation effects all C-17 Globemaster III aircraft crew., plus military members and civilians not designated as ride-out members or for evacuation preparation, JBC officials say. Those people have been ordered to evacuate no later than 6 p.m. on Sept. 9,

JBC officials say base personnel and residents should work through their chain of command and determine an evacuation plan and to arrange transportation if they don't have a personal vehicle.
As part of the evacuation, several Joint Base services and facilities are shutting down Friday afternoon. All lodging, including the Inns of Charleston, Foster Creek Villas and R.V. Camp, Lowcountry Campground, and Short Stay will be closing Saturday, 9 Sept. at noon.

The Galley will provide meals through lunchtime Saturday.
After these times, only fire, ambulance and law enforcement services will be operating. Planned re-opening hours will be announced on the @JBCharlestonFSS Twitter account.
